Speed Test
Speed Test measures your connection with a real, multi-stream test and an animated gauge, similar to the speed test sites you already know, but with an extra mode for testing your own server.
Three Modes
- Internet: your device’s real connection speed, out to the open internet.
- Server: your device’s connection to your own MaiPai Home server, over your local network.
- Server Internet: your server’s own upstream connection to the internet.
Run one test at a time, or hit Run all tests to chain through all three. Each run reports download and upload speed, ping, and jitter, and animates through each phase as it measures.
Reading Your Results
Each result is rated good, okay, or poor, using thresholds an admin sets in Admin → System, so the rating reflects what’s actually reasonable for your household’s connection. Your last result is saved, so it’s there when you come back to the page.
A Note on the Internet
The Server mode works entirely over your local network, even with no internet at all. Internet and Server Internet modes need a working connection, since that’s exactly what they’re measuring.
